Terrace of 3 houses with shops. c1844. Pink and cream mottled brick, front in Flemish bond, rear in English garden wall bond; timber shopfronts; brick stacks to slate roof. EXTERIOR: 2-storey 3-window front. Shopfronts framed in plain pilasters with necking of banded roundels and continuous moulded cornice on grooved consoles. Shopfront to No.9 now blocked by 4-pane sash window: Nos 11 and 13 retain 8-pane shop windows with slender glazing bars, moulded sills and painted timber risers: doors of 4 sunk panels have divided overlights. First floor windows are 12-pane sashes with narrow painted sills and flat brick arches. Renewed guttering on timber modillions with tapering faceted rainwater head at right end. Rear: 2-storey wings project at right angles. INTERIORS: not inspected. (City of York: RCHME: The Central Area: HMSO: 1981-: 135).
