House, c1600. Additions early and late C18, C19 and C20. Timber framed and painted
brick with plain tile roofs, and a single ridge and 2 gable brick stacks. Hall
house with an early C18 cross wing to the south and a late C18 cross wing to the
north, plus C19 additions to the rear;; 2 storeysplus garrets. East front has
slightly recessed central timber framed hall probably originally jettied, now
under built in brick with to the left a C20 gabled porch and to the right a large
C19 canted bay window. Above herringbone and braced lozenge patterned framing
with a large C20 casement. The right projecting gable wing has an off-centre
C20 gabled porch with glazed door and side light. Above 2 windows, an C18 glazing
bar sash, and a C20 casement, above another C20 casement, all these openings have
painted wedge lintels. The left projecting gable wing has a single window to
each floor with segment brick heads, the ground floor has a C20 casement, above
is an C18 glazing sash and above again another C20 casement. The interior is
reported to contain an original inglenook fireplace, chamfered beams, an early
C18 staircase and much of the original roof structure.
