Description

SS 62 SW SATTERLEIGH AND POOL LANE
WARKLEIGH
3/193 Pool Farmhouse
-

- II

Farmhouse. Probably late C16 or early C17, but earlier fabric may well survive.
Rendered stone rubble and cob. Thatch roof with gable ends. 2 tall front lateral
stacks, with tapered cap to left-hand stack.
Plan As interior was not assessible at time of survey, it was not possible to
determine exact plan and development. It appears to consist of a 3-room and cross-
passage plan with projecting stair turret to rear of hall to right of passage, and
additional entrance to left of lower end front lateral stack.
2 storeys. 3-window range. Early C20 fenestration. Two 2-light casements flanking
a 3-light casement; all 2 panes per light. Ground floor has plank door with
overlight at left end. Two 3-light casements 3 panes per light to each side of
plank door with overlight and 3-light casement 6 panes per light at right end. 2-
storey outbuilding with gable ended slate roof attached at left end has two 2-light
windows above 2 plank doors with cambered lintels flanked by 2-light windows.
Interior not accessible, but believed to be largely unspoilt.
