A Grade II* Listed Building in Wakefield North, Wakefield

Wakefield City Museum

Uploader's Comments

Built in 1820, as the Music Saloon with a library and news room, it later became a Mechanics Institute, and then council offices and an occasional dance hall. In the 1950s Wakefield Museum moved here from Holmfield House in Thornes Park. In 2000, the museum was completely renovated, with new displays, a lift and ramps.
