Single house, now 2 houses. No 78 to the right facing the street. Red brick. Slate roof. Dentil eaves. 2 storeys, plus garret, 3 bays. Central doorway with originally panelled door and segmental arched overlight. Either side are single glazing bar sashes with rendered lintels. Above are 2 tripartite glazing bar cross Yorkshire sashes with single central glazing bar cross casement, all under segmental arches. Left gable wall with 22 bricks each inscribed with a builder's initials and dated 1779. The listing takes no notice of No 80 next door with its arched entrance, double height porch and two-tone brickwork of say 1910. (Photo May 2008).
