TURTON (off) GREENS ARMS ROAD,
Chapeltown,
Spring Bank

House, early C19. Sandstone, ashlar facade and watershot sides and
rear, with hipped slate roof and end wall chimneys. Rectangular
3-bay plan with service wings to rear. Two storeys, symmetrical,
in simple classical style with moulded cornice and low parapet; in
the centre a panelled door in Tuscan doorcase with segmental fanlight
(altered glazing); five large sashed windows with glazing bars. Lower
service wing to right has similar windows on each floor, and former
barn or stable block continues beyond this, enclosing a rear courtyard.
