Large house, now divided into 3. Built in 1865 by architects Field and Hilton. Gothic style. Built of Reigate stone with Bath stone dressings. Tiled roof with bands of plain and pointed tiles. 3 tall clustered ribbed brick chimneystacks. Asymmetrical building of 2 storeys and attics 5 windows, No.52 being a former billiard room, part of same build but given an extra storey in 1960s. Left part of main wing (No.50) is set back with gab;ed dormer with cambered sash window and 2 foliate gargoyles. 1st floor window is 3-light mullioned and transomed casement with stained glass brought in by current owner. Ground floor has 2 light window and doorcase with plain spandrels. No.48 has to left a projecting gable with stone finial. 2nd floor cambered sash with gargoyles. 1st floor has 4 light mullioned and transomed window and similar 5 light window to ground floor. To the right is a recessed section of 2 bays with two 2 light sashes to 1st floor and 3 light mullioned and transomed window to ground floor. Doorcase in angle with gargoyles. Fanlight of 3 trefoils and doorcase with spandrels of roses one side and shamrocks the other, 6 chamfered panels to doors. End bay is projecting with rosettes to cornice and 4 cambered sashes to 1st floor. Blank shields between floors and 4 light mullioned and transomed window to ground floor. To the extreme right is a most unusual contemporary stone and glazed conservatory with cambered sides divided by colonnettes with foliate capitals and wood and glass roof: No.52, the former billiard room, has stone ground floor with 6 light canted bays. 1st floor is c1960, tile hung with 3 C20 dormers. Rear elevation includes 2 projecting wings and tall mullioned staircase window. C20 flat roofed extension to rear of No.52. Interior of No.52 includes staircase with 2 turned balusters to each tread, panelling and fireplace with eared architraves. The former billiard room (part of No.48) has panelling, splayed windowseat and alcove with chimneybreast.
