House. Early C17 with extensions to right of 1888 by Sir Edwin Lutyens (his first
commission). Timber framed, clad in whitewashed roughcast with tile hung gable
end to left. Whitewashed roughcast extensions, tile hung above, swept out over
ground floor. Plain tiled roofs restored in C2O. Two storeys with corbelled,
late C19 stack to left on ridge, further stack to junction of two ranges and
stacks to rear and on right hand return front. Four 3-light windows to first
floor and three casements to ground floor. One 4-light first floor window under
drip hood to end of wing on the right, and one first floor window on left hand
return wall of wing under eaves gable. Door to ground floor right of centre in
gabled porch, boarded with segmental arch over the door and single leaded, flanking
windows. Further window to right of door in pentice roof continuation of the
porch. Further casement doors to centre, in hip roofed porch with four-light
window to right. Wings at right angles to rear.
