Description

TQ 64 SW PEMBURY MAIDSTONE ROAD

5/392 Garden walls adjoining to
east and approx. 2m west
of Little Hawkwell
Farmhouse
GV II

Garden boundary wall. Various dates, the oldest is probably C17, rest C18 and
C19. Oldest sections are sandstone laid to rough courses with sandstone
ashlar ridged coping. One section projects from the east side of the kitchen
then returns north along the east side of the front garden. The plastered
brick section across the front of the garden is probably C19. Wall along the
western side is stone and similar to the east wall. This wall rises to a
higher level as it passes the western side of the back garden and here it is
interupted by a couple of plastered square section piers.
