NORMANTON WAKEFIELD ROAD SE 32 SE (east side) 2/58 No. 207, (Hill House 19.7.83 Farmhouse) - II Farmhouse, now house. C17 or earlier with C18 and C19 alterations; recently altered and restored. Timber frame partly cased and partly replaced by casing of coursed sandstone and some brick, with slate roof. Three-unit lobby-entry plan. Two storeys and 3 bays; doorway at junction of 1st and 2nd bays, with remains of Tudor-arched lintel, a round-headed loop-light to the left, and 3 windows on each floor, all modern casements except that at ground floor of 3rd bay which is of 2 lights with a chamfered stone mullion. Two ridge chimneys (at junctions of bays). Left gable has exposed king post truss with 4 pairs of raked struts. Right-hand gable wall of close-studded framing on stone plinth (parts restored): 2 wall posts, sill, rail, concave braces to the tie-beam, and king-post roof truss with 4 pairs of raked struts; a window on each floor with modern wooden diamond-mullion external frame. Rear: 3rd (southern) bay of similar framing; middle bay of stone at ground floor, brick above; C19 service wing at junction of 1st and 2nd bays. Interior: substantial remains of timber framing, including 2 stop-chamfered spine beams in each bay, inglenook with similarly decorated bressummer; Tudor arched parlour fireplace; smoke hood.
