1/21 Limekilns about 20m south east of
Kerswell Cottage

GV II

Limekilns. Probably C19. Local grey limestone rubble. 4 swallows facing the road
with segmental arches. The fourth (at the right end) is slightly set back. The
first swallow from the left has a subsidiary niche on the internal wall.
Limekilns at Kerswell are documented in 1620. The kilns are a prominent feature on
the corner at Kerswell Springs.
