14-0/5/10006 Barn about 60 metres SSW of
Kiln Farmhouse

Barn. Circa late C17 or early C18. Weatherboarded timber-frame on tall red
brick plinth with some vitrified headers, in Flemish bond. Thatched roof
with half-nipped ends. 4-bay barn, facing north west with aisle on south east
and cart entrances at front and rear, to threshing floor in second bay from
south west end. The north west front has plank double-doors to right of
centre. The roof at the rear is carried down over the aisle and the eaves are swept over cart entrance, to left of centre, with plank double-doors.
INTERIOR: Intact 5-bay frame with jowled aisle and wall-posts, large studs on sole-plate to tall plinth; curved braces to tie-beams with queen-post trusses with clasped purlins, wind-braces and common-rafter couples.
