Funerary monument to the Caslon family. C18 chest tomb of painted Portland stone with a ledger slab possibly of Welsh limestone. Baluster-type pilasters; sunken inscription panels. Surrounded by contemporary railings with spearhead finials with urns at the corners. William Caslon the Elder (1692-1766) and his son William (1720-1778) were distinguished type founders after whom a typeface is named. SOUPCE: Dictionary of National Biography.
