Pair of attached cottages. C17; No.36 is circa mid C19 addition. Coursed Purbeck stone
rubble. Stone tile roof with red clay ridge tiles and gable ends. Stone axial and gable-end
stacks with red and yellow clay pots. PLAN: No.34 is a small 2-room plan house with a
large fireplace heating the lower right [east] end room and with a smaller room [probably
originally unheated] on left. In circa mid C19 No.36 was added on the left [west] end as a
separate cottage with one room at the front and a wing at the back. Single storey outshuts
have been built behind No.34. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic. 1:2 window north front.
No.34 on the right has two 4-pane sashes on ground floor with glazed door between with
C20 wooden porch and 2 raking dormers above with small sashes. No.36 on left has large
sash on each floor, first floor breaking eaves, and glazed door on right within
large conservatory porch. At rear single storey outshuts on left and gable-ended wing on -
right. INTERIOR of No.34, right hand room has chamfered cross-beam with bar-stops and
large stone fireplace with chamfered timber lintel with hollow-step-stops. Partition with
moulded plank door and chamfered beam over.
