7-11m S of S aisle of Church
of St. Mary Magdalene

Four chest tombs. Mid to late C18. Limestone. Tomb to north-west has moulded
plinth and cornice, corner balusters, fielded inscription panel and one panel
carved with winged cherub's heads over 3 carved cartouches: commemorates
Benjamin Reade, 1791. Late C18 tomb to south-west has moulded plinth and
cornice, corner balusters and panelled sides. Tea-caddy tomb in centre of group
commemorates John Churchill, d.1771, and others of his family: cross-shaped,
with panelled sides and moulded top. Mid/late C18 tomb to south-east has moulded
plinth and cornice, corner balusters, revealed side panels, and, in end panels,
rococo cartouche and swags.
