Farmhouse, C16, altered C17 and subsequently extended one bay south. Roughcast
over rubble, slate roof, extended stack left gable end, brick stack left of
cross passage and right gable end with bread oven projection. L-plan facing
east, 3-cell and cross passage enlarged one bay south, 2-cell north-west
kitchen wing with stair projection in angle. Two storeys, 4 bays; 3-light
casements, late C17 casement one above entrance second bay right. A similar
casement is said to survive at rear and in the rear wing a C17 casement with
original glazing. Interior not seen, said to contain a stud and plank screen
to right of cross passage, panelled hall, timber framed partition to kitchen
wing with flat peaked door frame, above kitchen 4-panel compartment ceiling
with"plasterwork cornice, moulded ribs and angels'faces set in centre of each
panel. Evidence of jointed cruck roof. (VAG Report, unpublished SRO, January
1976).
