Pair of houses. c1820-30. Stone rubble, stuccoed to front with plat bands; late C19 slate roof and brick ridge and end stacks. Double-depth plan. 3 storeys; 4-window front. Panelled outer doors set in heavy tripartite frames with side lights and fanlights. Margin-pane sashes, including two 2-storey canted bays to centre. 2-storey wing to rear left, with hipped slate root: brick walls and glazing bar sashes. Interior not inspected. Subsidiary Features: stone-coped stone rubble wall attached to pyramidal-capped ashlar gatepiers on left (No 8). Included for group value with No 4 (qv).
