Lodge to Cottles House, now detached cottage. Late C19. Rubble
stone, stone slate roof with coped verges and stone stack to right
of centre. Single-storey and attic, 2-window. Central 2-storey
porch with elliptical chamfered archway and planked door, square
hoodmould, 2-light ovolo-mullioned casement with hoodmould either
side, attic floor of porch has 2-light ovolo-mullioned casement to
ground and attic floors. Right return has lean-to ground floor
extension, 2-light attic casement. The drive to Cottles, now
Stonar School (q.v.) ran from here, but is now closed; the Fuller
family of Neston Park (q.v. Corsham CP) acquired Cottles during the
1870s and probably built the lodge.
