House. Early C18, perhaps with an earlier core. Ground floor brick, painted
white; first floor tile-hung with white-painted tiles; peg-tile roof; brick
stacks.
Plan: West facing. Double depth plan, 3 rooms wide under a 2 span roof. The
right end front room (at the south end) is an early C19 addition to a
symmetrical house with a central entrance and end stacks. The front door now
opens into a heated entrance hall (to the north) with a stair rising from it.
The present centre room is unheated, the old end stack has been used to heat
the C19 additional room. Parts of the house may pre-date the C18. The
remains of a timber-framed stack are said to survive in the attic space above
the rear left service room.
Exterior: 2 storeys. 3-bay symmetrical front to the left plus one window to
the C19 addition, which is clear from a straight joint in the brickwork. C19
panelled front door to left of centre with a flat porch hood on posts flanked
by early C19 16-pane sashes, 3 similar first floor sashes. Ground floor
window right is an early C19 tripartite sash, 16-pane in the centre, flanked
by 4-pane sashes. 2-span roof gabled at the left end and hipped at the right
end.
Interior: Plain.
Roof: Not inspected.
