Church. 1905. Designed by George Baines and Sons, in the Perpendicular style. Red brick with ashlar dressings. Slate roofs, with decorative ridge tiles. 3 bay nave with double transepts. Chamfered plinth. East, street front, has central projecting gabled porch, with angle buttresses, crenelated parapet with moulded coping. Deeply moulded, 4 centred arched doorway with double plank doors and ornate iron hinges and traceried fanlight. Above a broad segment headed window of 7 lights with tracery and hoodmould. Flanked by ashlar pilasters which rise through the gables as finials. To the right a small square single storey pavilion, with a 3 light traceried window with hoodmould to each face, plus a pyramidal roof and lead finial. To the left a tall square, battered tower with clasping buttresses and ashlar bands, topped by a square wooden lantern with a short leaded spire. The tower has a deeply recessed, four-centred arched doorway with double doors with ornate hinges and a traceried fanlight. Above, each face has a small 3 light traceried window, a small lancet and 3 light traceried bell openings, topped with a moulded eaves band with fleurons and gargoyles plus crenelated parapet with moulded coping. Interior has wide hammer beam roof, supported on single square pillars at the transepts. Eastern gallery with glazed screen below. West end has moulded four-centred arch, and raised pulpit with organ case behind. Fine wooden pews throughout. Good Art Nouveau style stained glass.
