-81-- Shaped slate with shoulders and a round relief panel in the head: A robed female figure holds on to the fouled anchor of hope. a skull is at her feet. Her other hand points to an inscription on a tomb: -My Hope is in the Lord-. The engraved name and details are in a heart shaped incised panel. To Mary Parr who d. 28th Feb 1793 age 59. -O man, thy kingdom is departing from thee/ and while it lasts, is emptier than my shade-. (from Edward Young: Night-Thoughts, 1743). by Wood of Bingham.
