Late C18. 2 storeys faced with Bath stone. Central sign panel with inscription:
"Wines, Spirits and Ales" and painting of large Bell with motto: "Fear God
and Honour the Queen". lst floor string course. Narrow cornice. Parapet
with coping concealing gable end slate roof. The right hand half of front
has two 2 storey shallow bows of 2 lights each and central mullion, sashes
with glazing bars intact, on each floor. lst floor windows have bold curved
wire lattice flower guards. Central panel between bows, that on ground
probably former doorway. The left hand half of front is articulated by
stone piers carried into frieze, the 1st floor sill course breaking forward
over them. 3 windows, recessed, sash, glazing bars, set in wide panels.
Ground floor has paired windows with stone mullions, one window converted
to Bar door. Main entrance set in slightly projecting bay with sill course
broken over. Recessed door of 6 panels, 2 glazed and window above in slight
rectangular recess.
