GV II

House. C16, extended and altered early C18 and late.C19. Timber framed and
rendered and extended and clad with painted and rendered brick, with red
brick and slate roofs. Main elevation: 2 storeys and attic with 2 flat roofed
dormers and stacks to left and to right, with 3 glazing bar sashes on each
floor, and projecting 2 storey wing to left with hipped slate roof and stack.
Half-glazed door on right return in square porch with stained glass. Rear
half-hipped wing with plinth, plat band and central stack. Interior: quirk
and tongue chamfered stopped beams in framed portion, the roof with braced
collar ties, but with no purlins. C19 portion with geometric staircase,
marble neo-classical style marble fireplaces, dado panelling and shuttered
windows, all interior fittings survive in good condition. Wall to rear garden
about 6 feet high, about 25 metres by 25 metres, with 3 beeboles with
triangular heads on eastern limb.
