House. 1869. By Frederick Barnes. Red brick; machine-tile roofs. 2 storeys and attics. East front has a 2-storey canted central entrance bay with a 4-centred doorway and arched lancet side lights to the cants right and left. First-floor window above is a 1/4 sash, also with a 4-centred head on a hood mould. Crenellated parapet. One bay either side, both with shaped gables. Bay to left with a 2-storey canted bay window fitted with 1/1 unhorned sashes; to right the single-window bay projects slightly and is lit through a 3-light casement to each floor. In the attic is an arched 2/2 sash. Gabled roofs. The rear (west) elevation is less symmetrical: gabled 3-storey wing to left with a triple-flued decorated internal stack; shaped gable to right against which is a canted window bay with 1/1 unhorned sashes. Between the 2 parts is a crenellated parapet. A greenhouse abuts the left wing, rebuilt in replica following gale in 1987. INTERIOR: closed string staircase with turned balusters and a ramped handrail terminating in moulded hexagonal newel posts. 4-panelled doors; marble chimneypieces and main ground-floor room with plaster foliage trails in ceiling borders.
