Milepost. Porbably mid C19. Stone with cast-iron plates. Stone post of
triangular section with flat semi-circular head; cast-iron plates with raised
lettering bolted onto the head and each of the 2 outer faces. The head is
lettered:-

"BARNSDALE & LEEDS ROAD" - around the circumference and "HOOK MOOR
BRANCH
LEDSTONE"
and the side plates indicate distances:-

"DONCASTER "BOROBRIDGE
9 MILES 25 MILES
PONTEFRACT WETHERBY
4 3/4 MILES 12 3/4 MILES
CASTLEFORD ABERFORD
1½ MILES" 5½ MILES"
