John Chetwode Eustace born in Ireland, c1762; died of malaria at Naples, Italy, 1 August 1815; was an Anglo-Irish Catholic priest and antiquary. In 1802 he travelled through Italy with three pupils, John Cust (grandson of John Cust, Lord Brownlow) being one of them. During these travels he wrote a journal which subsequently became celebrated in his -Classical Tour-, published 1813. The urn is decorated with a harp, fountain pen and scroll of paper, with a laurel chaplet surround. In the Latin inscription on the plinth, dated 1816, John Lord Brownlow mourns Eustaces passing.
