Uploader's Comments

The Animal Pound or Pinfold existed on this site in 1663. The Pound was cleared by a group of people from Styvechale Grange Residents Association and Friends of Kenilworth Road Woodlands. The official opening was undertaken by the Mayor Linda Bigham on the 14th September 2019 as part of the Coventry Heritage weekend. Previously restoration took place in November 1978 and was officially opened by JD Berry chairman of the planning committee. Plaques can be seen commemorating these events on the wall inside the Animal Pound. To enhance this area a rustic fence has been erected along with 4 apple trees. The surrounding area has been cleared to enable the site to be accessed by all. further information can be seen on www.sgra.co.uk web site
