Cottage, late sixteenth century or earlier, timber framed with black weather boarding
and Gable Thatched roofs. Single storey with attics. Gable Thatched Dormer on east
elevation, Off-centre red brick, rebuilt stack. Windows generally horizontal
sliding sashes or casements with small panes. Canted bay window on north gable
elevation with hipped peg tile roof. Some old Elm weather boarding on north end of
west elevation. Interior shows evidence of small open hall house with floored ends
and probable crown post roof. Large, double sided Inglenock fireplace, one with
stop-chamfered mantel beam of early seventeenth century. Formerly Old Workhouse.
