GV 2/8/96 II

Boathouse. 1898-1900. Red brick; pantiled roof 2 storeys in 4-window range. Ground floor with 2 pairs of timber boathouse doors, set under basket arches. First floor with full width timber balcony supported on square-section timber posts and reached by ladder staircase at east end. Balustrade in form of repeated open squares within cross bracing. First floor fenestration of 2 central 2-1ight casements, that to left developed into French window. One outer 3-1ight casement right and left. Hipped roof with deep overhang, the soffit to front (ie facing river) with five registers of triple drop pendants, the outer ones doubled in depth. Stacks on east and west roof slopes. On the left (west) side a single-storey extension of late C20 with double doors and a gable facing. INTERIOR: not inspected.
