Farmhouse. Circa early C17, altered and extended in C19. Timber-framed with brick nogging, partly rebuilt in brick and partly rendered. Slate roof with deep eaves and verges to the gable ends. Brick gable-end stacks with set-offs. PLAN: 2-room plan with central entrance hall and wing behind the right-hand room. In the C19 the house was remodelled, the eaves at the front were raised, bay windows, a balcony and porch were added to the front and an extension was built at the back in the angle with the rear wing. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic. Symmetrical 3-window south front with C19 2-storey canted bay windows with wooden balcony between supported on columns to the porch below; central doorway and 12-pane sash above. Rear, north, wing to left with restored timber-framing in the gable-end and 2-storey lean-to extension in the angle. INTERIOR has much exposed timber-framing. The right-hand room has a deeply chamfered framed ceiling and timber-framed rear wall. The left-hand room has two chamfered axial beams and timber-framed partition wall on right.
