Cemetery chapels. 1870. By William Sugden. Coursed and squared
stone, heavy slate roof with ridge-cresting. Gothic Style.
Central entrance arch with tower and spire over, flanked by 2
chapels.
EXTERIOR: moulded archway beneath 2-stage tower, with
chamfered plinths to stepped upper stages. Heavy pinnacles on
top-most plinth. Octagonal base to spire, with gabled lucarnes
in each face. Entrances to chapels beneath main entrance
archway each side. 3-light Decorated windows with geometric
tracery incorporating rose. Low paired windows in chapel
porches each side, with stilted arched doorways. Chapels
divided into 2 bays by buttresses, each with 2-light window
with curvilinear tracery. 3-light geometric 'east' windows.
