Semi-detached houses, now offices. Early C19, with C20
alterations. Yellow stock brick, Flemish bond (right-hand
(east) flank and rear elevation of No.36 now colourwashed).
Hipped Welsh slated roof with catslide at rear, 2 central
square yellow brick chimneys with oversailing courses and 4
orange clay pots each. 2 subsidiary stacks left and right with
2 pots. Central entrance and staircase plans.
EXTERIOR: 6 bays, 2 storeys. First floor has 4 recessed 9-pane
sash windows beneath rubbed brick flat arches and with stucco
sills, 2 to each dwelling, either side of central slightly
projecting bay with blind window recess. Projecting pilaster
to centre reflects party wall dividing 2 dwellings within.
Ground floor has four 12-pane sash windows, and doorways in
projecting bays, recessed 3 panel doors in reveal with twin
panelled pilasters and semicircular fanlight (with radial and
sectoral patterned tracery to No.38), below rubbed brick
semicircular arches.
Rear of No.36 has large C20 conservatory; rear of No.38 has
single storey lean-to outshoot with Welsh slated roof with
square brick chimney with oversailing courses serving former
washhouse.
