GV II

Wesleyan chapel. Dated 1867. Painted stucco with a slate roof.
Rectangular plan.
EXTERIOR: One storey; symmetrical 2-window range. Pilasters
with moulded caps support moulded archivolts with keystones to
the openings. Raised curved quoins support moulded eaves
cornices to the gable ends. A circular plaque to the west
gable reads "Wesleyan Chapel 1867"; 2 very tall
semicircular-arched windows with small panes and coloured
margin panes have radial glazing bars to the tops. 3 similar
windows to the sides are articulated by raised panels reaching
from the ground and off-set at the imposts of the window
arches. Good C20 double oak doors to the west end.
INTERIOR: a gallery to the west entrance end is supported by
slender cast-iron columns, the planked balustrade is fronted
with triangular panels now filled-in above to form an upper

end has steps to each side, a wrought-iron scrolled balustrade
and a panelled area on the wall to the rear. The C19 pews are
original.
