National school, now church hall. 1838, converted C20. By
William Donthorn. Cut flint with brick dressings; slate roofs.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. 5-window range to south front: central
gable over a 4-light C20 timber first-floor window. Remainder
of fenestration of top- and bottom-hung casements with glazing
bars and gauged skewback arches. Gabled roof.
East, entrance, return in 2 distinct parts. South part with 2
stepped buttresses and, between them, a tall arched 4-light
Perpendicular window through both storeys. Parapet and
shouldered gable in which is inscription: Swaffham National
School 1838. North part with a C20 glazed entrance door below
a wide overlight with 6 by 3 glazing bars. One large 3-light
casement above. Gabled roof.
