2 houses. Mid C18. Roughcast with painted ashlar dressings and
slate roof (that over No.24 now artificial slate).
2 storeys. No.22 of 4 bays and No.24 (at the left) of 2 bays.
Facade has alternating quoins, a storey band, and an eaves
band below a moulded cornice gutter. The windows have plain
stone surrounds. Those on the 1st floor have brackets below
their projecting sills. The windows are sashed, those to No.24
without glazing bars. The doorway to No.24 is in the left-hand
bay and has a stone surround with a shallow cyma moulding and
a moulded cornice hood. The door to No.22 is of 6 panels (4
raised and fielded and 2 glazed) and is reached by 5 steps
with nosings. It is set within a doorcase with lugged
architrave, and a pulvinated frieze between fluted brackets
with guttae. The broken pediment is deeply moulded and
encloses a carved urn with gadrooning and a pine cone finial.
The cornice gutter breaks forwards between the 1st and 2nd
bays to form a rainwater outlet. Chimneys on right-hand gable
(which is coped) and between houses.
INTERIOR: No.22 has doors with raised and fielded panels and a
dogleg stair with open string, 3 slim turned mahogany
balusters to each tread, and columns as newels. Its side walls
are panelled to dado height.
