House. Early to mid C18, altered. Pebbledashed with slate
roof.
2 storeys plus attic and 3 irregular bays, with a plain
painted eaves band. The windows are sashed with plain reveals
and projecting sills. The door, to the right of the 2nd bay,
has a painted stone surround with a shallow cyma moulding, and
a stone cornice hood on shaped brackets. The door is
approached by 4 stone steps. To left and right is a low stone
wall topped by cast-iron railings in a Chinese Chippendale
pattern. Chimney to right.
INTERIOR: against the rear wall and rising to attic level is
an oak dogleg stair of early C18 type with closed string and
turned balusters. The 1st-floor doors are of 2 raised and
fielded panels, as are the doors to the 2 rear rooms on the
ground floor. The rear right-hand room contains a built-in
cupboard with doors which include ogee panels.
