2 houses. Early C19, altered. Painted render with some painted
stone dressings and slate roofs.
3 storeys, with 2nd-floor sill band and moulded stone cornice
gutter. No.22 (at the right) of 2 bays. The windows are late
C20 top-hung casements with glazing bars. Those on the 1st and
2nd floors have architraves. On the ground floor is a wide
window with plain reveals, projecting sill, and segmental
head. To its left is a 4-panel door in a timber doorcase which
appears to be a C20 reconstruction. It has panelled pilasters
and a cornice. The door, which is of 4 panels, is reached by 3
stone steps. In the left-hand bay there is a cart entrance to
a passageway.
No.22, at the left, is of one bay. The windows to the upper
floors have plain reveals and stone sills. On the 1st floor
there is a glazing bar sash and on the 2nd floor a C20
casement with glazing bars. On the ground floor there is a
timber canted bay window which has sashes without glazing
bars. The door, at the right, has a reconstructed timber
doorcase which includes part of a fluted architrave of early
to mid C19 type. The side walls of the passageway include some
exposed brickwork and a doorway with round head and moulded
imposts.
