Roughly 4ft high and 3ft across, octagonal monument to Robert Ernest MD with 4 diamond shaped panels, one of which is empty, giving details of his career. the 4 smaller dividing panels are in the style of a Gothic arch style window. The top of the monument comes to a shallow point. there are Yorkshire roses around the edge of the monument's top.

originally in St Phillip's Churchyard before being moved to the infirmary site in 1953 and then moved to outside of Royal Hallamshire hospital in 1980.
