Shops and warehouses. 1898. By GS Doughty and John Howitt of Nottingham for J Wright & Son. Altered mid and late C20. Red brick with ashlar dressings and slate roofs with various stacks. Renaissance Revival style. Polychrome bands, moulded sill and lintel bands to the upper floors, moulded cornice and frieze, coped gables with finials to the side bays. Windows are mainly original sashes with glazing bar top lights. First and second floor windows have shaped lintels. 3 storeys plus attics; 10 bays, 24 windows arranged 3:2:2:2:3:3:2:2:2:3. Symmetrical front, slightly stepped. Ground floor has mainly original openings divided by panelled pilasters, with gabled brackets to fascia cornice. Nos 110 and 112 have mid C20 stucco shopfront. Nos 116, 118 and 122 have largely original shopfronts with recessed side doors and plate glass windows. Above, in the centre, a double bay defined by angle pilasters with gabled caps, and shouldered coped gable. 2 floors with 2 tripartite windows. Attics have 2 tripartite windows with elliptical arched polychrome heads. Side bays have similar fenestration, with 2 windows on each floor. End bays, slightly projecting, have angle pilasters with gabled caps, tripartite windows, and 2-light windows to the attics.
