War Memorial and railing at junction
with Canterbury Avenue

War memorial and railing. c1920. Ashlar, with wrought-iron
railing and bronze plaque. Portland stone octagonal shaft with
cross gables, topped with a Celtic cross. Octagonal pedestal
with moulded top, and inscribed octagonal plinth. Octagonal
ashlar base, 3 steps. The memorial is set in a semicircular
paved area bordered at the front by a dwarf wall with
chamfered coping, square end piers, and central steps with
pedestals. At the rear, a railing carrying an inscribed bronze
plaque.
