3 houses, now museum. Dated 1788. By William Stretton for Cornelius and Mary Launder. Converted and interior remodelled c1970. Red brick, with painted ashlar dressings and plain tile roof with 2 brick ridge stacks. Plinth, sill bands to lower floors, dentillated wooden eaves cornice. Windows have brick flat arches. 3 storeys; 9 window range of 12-pane sashes. Above, nine 9-pane sashes. Below, an off-centre wooden doorcase with panelled pilasters and entablature on brackets, with panelled reveal, 6-panel door and fanlight. To left, two 12-pane sashes, then a similar doorcase. To right, 4 similar windows and another doorcase. Rear elevation has regular fenestration with segment-arched glazing bar sashes. INTERIOR has a wooden dogleg stair with stick balusters and several rooms with 6-panel doors and moulded cornices. (The Buildings of England: Pevsner N: Nottinghamshire: London: 1979-: 236).
