It opened as a Union Cinema in 1937 it was run by different companies until 1973. it then opened as a bingo hall. In 2002 it opened as a night club 'Cubes' This closed in 2009 and a local church group Dunstable Community Church took it over and re-vamped it into a Conference Centre close to the Church in the old gas show rooms a few shops down.
There is a panel on the facade depicting a female figure in stone relief offering film spools aloft The former Union Cinema was granted Grade II Listed building status by English Heritage in March 1999.
