late C16, with a C17 addition on north side, an east wing of circa 1700,
and front dated 1756. Stone rubble with rough slate quoins, slate roof,
and slate-hung gable ends, 2 storeys. Facade to lake has centre moulded
doorway with cornice on scroll brackets, up a double flight of stone steps
with iron railing and 2 Tuscan columns carrying a gabled upper oriel (3-sided,
with a sash on each face). At each side is a 3-light sash window on each
floor with wooden mullions and panelled wooden frames, the lower ones
with moulded cornices Gable ends have semi-circular lunette windows
to cellars. Earlier rear wing has 5 12- and 16-paned sash windows on upper
floor and 2 modern doors. Interior said to have cupboard of 1685, early
C18 panelling, and a staircase with flat balusters.
