Gate piers and front boundary wall
to Church of St Augustine

GV II

Gate piers, gates, and boundary walls. c1900. Portland stone
ashlar or rock-faced masonry, wrought-iron gates. A central
pair of piers approx 0.45m square and 2.1m high have panelled
fronts, moulded capping, and ball finial, and at either end
are plain low piers to weathered cappings at approx 1.5m. The
walling is in rock-faced masonry to a weathered coping,
continued to the end piers. There are paired central and
single end gates, with twisted spiral rail-heads and with
dog-bars.
