--1-- Belvoir Angel headstone to John Carpendale junior d. 24th Dec 1725 aet 26 years. Swithland slate carved with an angels face and wings to encourage the soul of the deceased to fly heavenwards (Folk art). with –Death often crops the flower/ The Blossom and the bud/ Happy in youth and age/ Are they whose lives are good-. (Photo Apr 2013).
