C18. At the eastern end there is a former entrance (now filled with walling)
comprising a carriageway opening flanked by 2 piers, each being separated
by square-headed (rubbed flat arch) doorways. Red brickwork in Flemish
bond, plinth. The high wall continues westwards with 5 regularly-spaced
buttresses starting on the plinth, terminating in a tall pier. Beyond
this, the wall has flintwork in its lower part as far as a (filled) doorway,
the material wholly brickwork with irregular buttresses as far as another
tall pier. The western section (in Flemish bond) has an arch-headed doorway
within a wall flanked by tall inner piers and lesser outer piers.
