South gateway, about 100m south of the Manor House

Gateway. C18. Local lias and Ham stone, wrot iron gate. Plain square plan gate
piers with non-classical moulded tops terminating in step and necked squat obelisks:
gates have curved top rails, with scroll work to top and middle rails, twist spear
points to bottom rails. Important in streetscape and setting to the Manor House
(qv).
