1933, by Professor W G Newton. Four 2 storeyed laboratory wings splayed out
from central core containing entrance and library on ground floor and 2 interlocking
lecture rooms above. Small wing to east now connecting large new building. Reinforced
concrete construction with brick and block infilling. concrete outerwalls with
very careful shutter marks and exposed aggregate. Eaves to flat roof with iron
railing. Large, multi-paned, metal-framed windows. Simple cupola of C18 type
to centre of roof.
