SKIRCOAT MOOR ROAD l. 1164 Crossley and Porter School SE 02 SE 7/149 II 2. 1864, by J Hogg. Large stone building in free Northern Renaissance style. Rectangular with 2 main storeys and another to large corner pavilions and in steep slated roof. Order of pilasters to each storey. Elaborate entrance tower to centre of south-east front rising to clock stage with cupola and weather vane. Wide central projection to south-west with single-storeyed bow and big elaborate gable. Other bows very elaborate dormers with finials and cresting to roof. Lower buildings to north west not included. Included for its overall effect.
