ST 9958 POTTERNE COXHILL LANE

14/128 No 10 (Cosy Cottage)

House, early C16, timber-framed, the east end partly rebuilt in
painted brick in C19, altered in c1980 restoration. Thatched
roof, half-hipped to west, hipped to east, replacing C19 slate roof
this end. Ridge stack. East end has exposed thin cruck truss
and casement pair each floor. North front has, to right, C20
porch with thatch swept over, ground floor casement pair and
timber-framed dormer gable with casement pair. Thatch is swept
down to right of dormer gable and continued beneath as hood over
casement pair to left. Left end has framing to ground floor only,
the rest painted brick. Casement pair each floor.
Interior has 2 pairs of crucks to one-bay former open hall.
